Tom Alison, Cofounder of Zenbe, wrote to tell me about Shareflow, an
innovative hosted email and collaboration software for small teams. He explained that Shareflow was born out of the needs of their own company.
"We used
instant messaging, wikis, and groupware every day. All of them were helpful, but the information was scattered. Emails and chat messages
got lost. Wikis got stale and unorganized. Groupware products were
costly, full of features we didn't use, and difficult to learn.
Shareflow lets groups move the conversation out of overloaded email
inboxes or irrecoverable chat, so they can work together more
effectively. File sharing is easy no matter how large, and you can view most files, even Office files, right in Shareflow. Many users have already drawn comparisons with Google Wave (with the difference that Shareflow is available today).
Venturebeat recently called Shareflow "the future of group communication."
You can take a two minute guided tour here:
There is a free starter plan for you to try Shareflow at no risk. You can easily upgrade to a paid monthly plan at any time.
Donna, @2donna, a Primary Consultant in e-learning from North Yorkshire, has just tweeted her Top 10 tools for learning list and become the 143rd learning professional to contribute her favourite tools. You can see all the contributions here.
One of the tools that she mentions I hadn't heard of before, it's xtranormal and lets you make 3D movies for free.
"Xtranormal’s mission is to bring movie-making to the people. Everyone
watches movies and we believe everyone can make movies. Movie-making,
short and long, online and on-screen, private and public, will be the
most important communications process of the 21st century."
Although there's a lot of talk about iPhones, there are still many people (me included!) who like their Blackberry.
MyBlackberry has just been launched for them. This is the official community for all things Blackberry, where you can "learn about new applications, connect with others and share stories or tips and tricks".
Just discovered this in a number of blogs and websites around the web ....
Celebrate the 40th anniversary of Apollo 11's landing on the moon with this real-time interactive recreation of the Apollo 11 mission. (Currently in the pre-launch phase). You can even follow the misson on Twitter

Free online event. 23 July 2009: 9 am - 2 pm Pacific time (4 pm - 9 pm GMT)
Corporate training departments and training companies are facing
challenging times. It’s clear to thrive they need to focus on business
critical issues for the organization, provide solutions provide real
value, differentiate their offerings, and look at ways to provide value
beyond being a publisher of courses and courseware. However, that’s
easier said than done.
This online event will bring together people with a variety of
perspectives on what we should be doing today to set ourselves up for
success going forward. We will look at questions that include:
Is this a temporary downturn or changing landscape?
How will demand change?
What will internal or external customers pay for that's not traditional training?
What's already selling today?
What business models, products, companies should we be watching?
What should we be doing today to be in position for the future?
This event is organized and moderated by Tony Karrer. You can read more background on the topic from Tony's post: Business of Learning.
