Nigel has summitted!

In March I made a posting about my brother in law, Nigel's impending medical expedition to Everest as part of the Cauldwell Extreme Everest Medical Expedition. (He's on the right in the picture above.)
He left his home in Belfast on 17 March, and since that time, he and a large team of medics, spent a number of weeks at Everest base camp doing a series of medical experiments. They then spent some time back down the mountain to gain strength for their summit bid, which would of course be dependent on the weather. But I just heard this morning that Nigel was part of the team that reached the summit of Everest last night. What an amazing feat!
For those in the UK, you will be able to see two BBC Horizon programmes about the expedition in the autumn as they have had BBC cameramen with them throughout.
To find out more about the expedition, take a look at the main website. Nigel's blog is also an interesting read.
UPDATE: Here's the direct link to the news posting on the Xtreme everest website with details of all the climbing team.
