I have just finalised a new "learning resource" called Engaging with Social Media, which is intended to help individuals experience and/or increase their engagement with a wide variety of social media tools.
It consists of 32 Activities based around 6 levels of engagement in (my) Model of Engagement. Each Activity makes use of one or more key (free) tools.
Individuals can self-assess their current level of engagement using a free Profiling tool and this will identify the Activities they should then focus on .
NOTES:
- This is very much an introductory resource for those who need a very structured approach to understanding social media in terms of the context and purpose of the tools.
- Although it is part of a much wider initiative to help organisations understand how to use social media for learning and performance support and therefore aimed at those in the workplace, it would also be useful for educators and others generally.
Engaging with Social Media is available (for a small charge) in both an online and PDF version. For more information, see Engaging with Social Media
