Twittering and Networking for Learning Professionals

Its amazing, that it is now two weeks since I released my list of learning professionals on Twitter, and yet is still getting masses of hits (and discussion going!).

Just a reminder that the list was set up in response to a large number of requests by learning professionals for help in finding others to connect with on Twitter so they could experience it properly.   From the emails I have received (a few snippets here) and some blog postings I have read (e.g. by Heather, Doug and ChrisI feel that it is succeeding in that respect.

However, I feel I do also need to point out that the original list of 101 names was only intended as a starting point of names to follow.  It was never intended to be the "Top 100 eduTwitterers list" simply  100 suggestions of learning professionals to follow on Twitter.  So I am very pleased to say that I have had a great response to my invitation for people to join the list (or recommend someone for the list) as it has now topped 350 names. I've therefore renamed the list to the Directory of Learning Professionals on Twitter - to avoid confuision with my Top 10/Top 100 lists - and if you would like to be on it, just let me know.

Last weekend, I also mentioned I was drawing up a list of social networks for learning professionals to join.  Once again this was in response to requests for help in finding networks for both educators and workplace learning professionals.  And once again I should point out that the list is intended for people to find one or two relevant networks - not join the whole lot! I've called this list the Directory of Social Networks for Learning Professionals - and again I am inviting suggestions of names of relevant learning-related social networks.  I wonder if this list will generate as much activity and discussion!
