Poonam, the Product Manager for TeemingPod emailed to tell me about this tool, which has just been released in version 2.0.
TeemingPod lets you add the power of social interaction on your web pages. TeemingPod supports various activities like presentation sharing, idea exploration, link sharing, FAQ, discussions, etc, which can be used to share information on a web page and collaborate with others.
TeemingPod has many applications in e-learning such as collaborating on projects, threaded discussion on a topic, group assignments, peer support and debates, to name a few.
Version 2.0 of TeemingPad has two new activities – Presentation and Ideation. These activities can be used in eLearning in various ways.
Presentation- Professors can share their course presentations with other fellow members and gather slide-by-slide feedback
- Professors can share their course presentations with students. Students can ask their questions per slide to which professor can answer. This way all other students can see these discussions for their reference
- Professors and students can share useful links related to the course topic or a point being discussed on the slide
- Students can recommend useful slides in the presentation e. Students can tag slides with relevant keywords. Others can focus on a particular area of the presentation by filtering slides by tags
- At the end of the course, they can then export the presentation in the form of PDF, along with comments and links for future reference
- Exported PDF can be a great asset for the professors too to update their presentations for their next course
Ideation
- Professors can throw open an idea and ask student inputs to see the way they think
- Based on the topic discussed, professor can gather views on the topic from the students to verify whether the students have understood the points discussed in the topic
- Professors can plan out a schedule of their course and gather inputs from others (professors/students)
