Here is a roundup of the articles and tools added to the main Centre for Learning & Performance Technologies (C4LPT) site in April.
Articles/postings added to the Reading lists
I added 32 articles and resources to my selected reading in April. This month it was a mixed bag of resources, but feeding the titles into Wordle, showed that there were some trends, namely Google, Twitter, Facebook, Learning and Tips. (Click the image below for the full size Wordle)
If you haven't got time to make your way through the whole reading list, here are what I think are the 5 must-reads this month:
- Formalized informal learning: a blend we don't need, Harold Jarche, 21 April 2010
- Less is more: A different approach to L&D in a world awash with information, Charles Jennings, TrainingZone, 19 April 2010
- Agility and Autonomy, Harold Jarche, 12 April 2010
- Five barriers to effective learning in organisations, Charles Jennings, 7 April 2010
- Nuts and bolts: when training works, Jane Bozarth, Learning Solutions Magazine, April 2010
Tools added to the Directory of Learning Tools
In April I added 18 tools to the Directory, but here are 3 I particularly like:
- Twime Machine - Easily browse through your old tweets. Read what you said ages ago. [In Micro-blogging tools and Twitter apps]
- Talki - The easiest way to embed a discussion
forum [In Communication
tools
- Echo - next generation commenting system. You can quickly
embed Echo on WordPress, Blogger, or any website and
turn your static pages into a real-time stream of diggs,
tweets, comments and more.
I'm starting to implement Echo in my own C4LPT website to make it easy to comment on pages, and also using it to gather this year's Top 10 Tools recommendations - you can log in with your Twitter, Facebook or other social media account.
