At the end of December 2008 I made some predictions about tools that I thought might do well. So how are they faring 6 months on?
Well, a number of them are already highly ranked on the emerging Top 100 Tools for Learning 2009 list:
- Evernote is the highest placed, at #27
- Dimdim is at #39=
- Friendfeed is at #81= and
- Posterous and WizIQ at #84=
Sliderocket isn't on the list yet, and in fact Prezi, similar online presntation software, is the highest ranked new entrant on the list, at #24=.
Screen Toaster is also not yet plaed - and in fact Screencastle is doing better at #81=. However, I read yesterday in TechCrunch that Screentoaster is being acquired by Veodia which, as TechCrunch points out, "is a remarkable feat, considering the fact that the startup only launched its service in private beta about 8 months ago"
That just leaves Cooliris (which has won a number of awards), Qik and Seesmic.
If any of these are your favourites, it's not too late to share your Top 10 Tools for Learning 2009. It's easy: Just tweet me (@c4lpt) or email me ([email protected]) your Top 10 tools, or write a blog posting and let me know about it. More information here.
Wow - screentoaster is awesome!!! Will be watching your blog VERY closely from now on.
