Yesterday I was with nearly 300 people at the Oxford Union for the E-Learning Debate. The debate was chaired by Rory Cellan-Jones, the BBC's Technology Correspondent. This picture is my view in the debating hall.

The motion was: "This house believes that the e-learning of today is essential for the skills of tomorrow."
I tweeted some of the discussion during the debate, but Clive Shepherd has written a great post with a summary of all the speakers' arguments.
The motion was defeated, with 90 in favour and 144 against. For the record, I voted against.
From this afternoon (1 October 2009) the E-learning Debate continues online at elearningdebate.com, and you will be able to read a summary of the arguments, view the highlights on Flickr and YouTube, add your comments, and vote.
