For those of you who weren't following my tweets last evening, I was at the e.learning age E-Learning awards last night at the Park Lane Hotel in London.
The full list of winners in all the categories is available at the elearning age website, however I do want to mention the success of Caspian Learning, who had invited me to be a guest on their table, as they were double winners!
Firstly, they were awarded silver in the Most innovative new product or tool in e-learning category for their Thinking Worlds 3D engine, and then gold in the Best Learning Game, simulation or environment category with their immersive simulation for the UK Navy and the Maritime Warfare School. Congratulations, and thanks for your hospitality.
Here's a photo I took of them picking up their gold award from TV's Angela Lamont.
Also on my table were David Hopkins of Bournemouth University who writes the great e-learning blog, Don't Waste Your Time, Patrick Dunn, an e-learning consultant, whose "occastional rants" I also enjoy, and Donald Clark, who probably needs no introduction! Donald has already made a long posting about the awards on his blog, Donald Clark Plan B, which will give you a great background to many of the winners, if you don't know them. (Oh, and thanks for the kind words about me too, Donald!)
It was great to catch up with so many colleagues and old faces and also discuss the current state of the e-learning industry.
I had a brief conversation with Barry Sampson about the award categories, and he rightly suggested that there now needs to be a Social Media in Learning category. Barry, we'll really have to try and do something about that for next year!
Good idea from Barry - some of the other categories are also a little wide or confusing, so room for rationalisation. Good night was had by all.

Hi Jane. I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to sit and chat more than we did on Thursday, but I look forward to working with you in the future.
I'm really pleased and proud for the Caspian guys, they're a great bunch of lads who are passionate about both their work and the industry they are clearly leading.
All the best, David
