Harold Jarche will be running this new Workshop
9-20 July 2012
“Most learning happens informally on the job. Formal instruction, or training, accounts for less than 20%, and some research shows it is about 5% of workplace learning. This workshop is designed for training professionals to look at the other 95% of workplace learning that needs to be supported. First, we will quickly review the basic premises of training and what it is good for. Then we will examine performance support and how the training toolkit can be expanded to included non-instructional interventions. Finally, we will look at ways to enhance social learning, or people learning together while working. There will be six themes in this two-week workshop, one on training, two on performance support, and three on social learning.”
